For all you Lectric XP4 owners, a new hack has emerged that could transform your e-bike into a true speed demon! In a recent video, Chris Crossed shares an exciting discovery from a subscriber, Joey’s Ebikes Adventures, that allows you to push your XP4 beyond its usual speed limits [00:19].
The secret lies in a simple display setting change: adjusting the tire size. While the XP4 typically comes with 20×3 inch tires, the default setting on the display is 22.2 inches [01:38]. The hack involves lowering the tire size setting to 5 inches [01:53].
How to Perform the Hack:
- Hold down the plus and minus buttons simultaneously to enter the settings menu [01:27].
- Scroll down to “tire size” [01:38].
- Decrease the value to 5 inches [01:53].
- Hold the power button and then press plus and minus again to exit [02:32].
This adjustment seemingly “tricks” the bike into thinking it has much smaller wheels, thus demanding more power [02:39]. Chris tested this hack using a GPS app for accurate speed measurement [02:52].
The Results:
- Throttle Only: The bike reached speeds of 29 mph [03:38].
- Pedaling (Turbo, 8th Gear): The Lectric XP4 successfully hit 30 mph! [04:30].
