Rivians new ebike compamny announced the launch of the Also TM-B, the first vehicle from the new company, ALSO, founded by R.J. Scaringe and Chris Yu. This versatility is possible thanks to a revolutionary modular design. With just one touch, you can remove the top frame and swap it out for another. A wide array of top frames allows you to adjust the bike’s function—from a workout profile to a school drop-off configuration. This system also addresses sizing, ensuring the bike can fit anyone from 4’11” to 6’8″. No matter which top frame is chosen, the TM-B features full suspension with 120 mm of travel in the front and the rear, providing extraordinary comfort and handling over various terrains, including potholes and dirt trails.
Introducing Dream Ride: The Propulsion Revolution
At the heart of the TM-B is Dream Ride, ALSO’s fully in-house propulsion system.
Dream Ride completely breaks the mold of standard ebike mechanics: there is no mechanical connection between the crank and the wheel. Instead, the rider pedals into a generator that simultaneously replenishes the battery and replicates the feeling and force of riding a perfect bike.
This unique system offers best-in-class performance and nearly infinite personalization. Users can personalize assistance levels, dictate the number of gears, and set the jumps between those gears. Because there is no derailer to adjust, every shift in this mode is perfect.
Performance highlights include:

One of the most exciting features that existing bikes cannot offer is the ability to load a workout profile. You can commute to work without breaking a sweat, cruising past traffic, and then on the way home, you can load a profile to get a full workout and hit your daily exercise targets—all on the same bike. Furthermore, two people riding side-by-side can be completely matched in effort or have entirely different experiences, with one person working significantly harder than the other, simply by adjusting the assist levels.
Vehicle-Grade Connectivity and Security
Inspired by the design of modern vehicles like Rivian, the also TM-B delivers a fully connected experience.
Powering the system are in-house batteries, designed with the latest vehicle-grade architecture. The battery pack itself is designed to be a beautiful object and features power out capabilities via USBC (240 watts), making it useful for powering devices while camping, at the beach, or even on your desk.
The integrated experience centers on the Portal, a beautiful high-resolution display and ride selector that comes to life as you approach the bike. Through the Portal and integrated cockpit controls, you can:
- View turn-by-turn bike-specific navigation.
- Control your media library and calls without needing to look at your phone.
ALSO also focused heavily on security, an important opportunity to create a world-class modern ownership experience. The Also app acts as your phone key. When you finish riding, you simply put the bike in park and lock it through the Portal or allow the bike to lock automatically as you walk away. When locked, everything locks: the top frame, the battery, and even the rear wheel. If someone tampers with the bike or bumps into it, you get an immediate alert on your phone. The app provides the real-time location via GPS, and in a worst-case scenario, the bike can be remotely disabled.
