Easy Storage for Skinny Tire Bikes/Ebikes

If you own ebikes with those 27.5 inching 2 inch wide tires this new rack I assembled is a great way to store them vertically. This one fits my Velotric Summit, Lectric XP Lite and Xpress.

The video documents the assembly and trial of the Store Your Board freestanding bike rack (which the Amazon listing may confusingly list under the brand Teal Triangle). I needed a solution for vertically storing my bikes in his garage to save space while still accommodating two cars.

The rack system was discovered via the Electric Bike Report. The specific unit installed fits five ebikes, although the host initially planned to use it for four due to space and weight concerns (an eight-bike version is also available).

Key details about the rack include:

  • It is not for fat tires but works best with skinny tires (fitting up to a 3-inch tire).
  • The hooks are rated for around 60 lbs.
  • The host planned to use it for his skinnier bikes, such as the Lectric Express, Lectric XP Lite, Electric One, and Velotric Summit.
  • Assembly took the host roughly 90 minutes.
  • To ensure stability, the host added rocks to the bottom, noting that it can also be attached to a wall. The hooks can easily be moved among the perforated holes.

After setup, the host found that by arranging the bikes (some facing up, some facing down to manage handlebars), he was able to fit five bikes (including the XP4 and X Peak) in the space where previously only three were stored. The accessory successfully created more room for other ebikes. The rack is available on Amazon for about $279.
