While in Florida I got the chance ot test ride the 72 Volt beast, Alpha Mini from Magician EBikes. Man that thing is a rocket!
The Mini has the same Bafang motor and electronics as my Escape Ranger which i bought last year. So I was curious to see what the difference felt like with the Min vs the Ranger.
My Ranger has 5 more AH and mounts the 2nd battery on top of the downtube so it feels more forward heavy vs the Mini which has the 2nd battery in back under the rack. It definitely felt more “balanced” as far as the weight is concerned. Both ebikes top out at 130 pounds.
The Minis 3000 Watt motor allowed me to hit 49MPH on my ride so it has fantastic power to keep up with the cars on Florida roads which is like riding on the highway with the wide street and multiple lanes of traffic.
Design wise I really dig the white on black and think the Alpha’s aesthetics are better than the Escape Ranger.
