Backed by an impressive 5-year warranty (where most brands cap out at one or two years), Troxus is betting big on their new Ride IQ technology platform.
Is it worth the price tag, and does all that tech actually add value to your daily ride? Let’s dive into the details.

- Battery: 48V 20Ah (960Wh) pack built with UL-certified Samsung cells. It ships with a 3-amp charger, getting you from empty to full in roughly 6.5 hours.
- Brakes: Tektro hydraulic disc brakes featuring motor cutoffs (180mm front rotor, 160mm rear).
- Drivetrain & Components: Shimano Altus 8-speed setup, Kenda 20×4 Crusade knobby fat tires, front suspension with lockout/preload, metal fenders, and an integrated MIK-rated rear rack built to handle up to 100 lbs of cargo.

2. Ride IQ Technology: A Game Changer?
The real differentiator here is Troxus’s Ride IQ ecosystem, developed to connect your phone directly to the bike’s nervous system via 4G and Bluetooth.
Here are the standout smart features:
- Proximity Keyless Unlock: My personal favorite feature. Walk up to the bike with your phone in your pocket, and it senses your presence and powers on automatically without you touching a button.
- Geofencing & Movement Alerts: Set a virtual boundary. If someone moves the bike out of the garage or storage locker, your phone alerts you instantly, allowing remote shutdown over 4G.
- Safety SMS Alerts: The built-in tip-over sensor sends an emergency text message with your location to designated contacts if you crash.
- Audible Bike Locator: Press a button in the app, and the bike sounds an alarm so you can spot it in a crowded bike rack.
3. Real-World Road & Hill Performance
How does it actually feel on the pavement?
Dual Sensor Control
One of the coolest physical switches on the handlebar lets you toggle instantly between Torque Sensor and Cadence Sensor modes.
- Torque Mode: Forces you to put in real effort. To hit 27–28 mph, you have to work for it, giving you a legitimate workout.
- Cadence Mode: Ghost-pedal mode. Just spin the pedals lightly, and the motor pushes you right along.
Speeds & Power Delivery
The acceleration is surprisingly linear. It takes a few seconds for power to ramp up, meaning it won’t jerk you around unexpectedly off the line. Downhill, the bike felt incredibly stable cruising past 30 mph, and the Tektro hydraulic brakes brought all 75+ pounds of bike and rider to a crisp, controlled stop.
The Hill Climb Test
Taking on steep inclines using the throttle in cadence mode, the motor maintained a steady minimum speed of 11.1 mph on steep grades. That’s solid, average-to-strong performance for a 750W hub drive carrying a larger rider.
4. The Downsides & Minor Flaws
No bike is perfect, and the LynxPlus has a few quirks to keep in mind:
- Motor & Tire Noise: The rear Ananda motor has a distinct grumble under load. Combined with aggressive knobby Kenda tires on asphalt, there’s a loud, noticeable hum while riding. Street tread would make more sense here since it lacks rear suspension.
- Setup Tweaks Needed: Out of the box, the front tire bead was seating improperly off the rim, causing a slight bump while rolling until I deflated and reset it.
- Slow Power Ramp Up: If you’re looking for aggressive, immediate torque off a dead stop, the gradual acceleration curve might feel a bit tame initially.
